This morning’s announcement of the 2011 Emmy nominations brought great news for What a Pair! cast members Jane Lynch and Loretta Devine, who both earned nominations.
Loretta has been nominated in the ‘Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series’ category for her role as Adele Webber, the Alzheimer’s afflicted wife of Dr Richard Webber in the hit ABC series ‘Grey’s Anatomy’.
Jane, in addition to hosting the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, has been nominated once more in the ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series’ for her role as evil cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in the FOX series ‘Glee’. She won the award the previous year, let’s hope she can do it again.

On Tuesday, June 28th, actresses Emily Bergl and Ashley Austin Morris, along with fellow cast and crew members from the Off Broadway show, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, will be building for Habitat for Humanity in Brooklyn, New York.
They will help to renovate an eight-unit building, originally built in 1931. When completed, it will become affordable condominium homes for low-income working New York City families.
The building is part of 100 Homes in Brooklyn, a new Habitat-NYC initiative to build or renovate affordable homes in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Ocean Hill-Brownsville, communities hit hard by the foreclosure crisis. The initiative is funded in part with a grant from the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2.

Yesterday was a big day for frequent What A Pair! cast member and CSI star Marg Helgenberger. She received recognition both for her acting achievements and for her commitment to philanthropic causes.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame Committee announced the new Walk of Fame Honorees for 2012, and Marg’s name was on the list. Marg will receive a star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame for her accomplishments in the field of television. A date has not yet been scheduled for her star ceremony as recipients have five years from the date of selection to schedule. In addition to the announcement that she will finally be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Marg was also honored as a ‘Hollywood Hero’ at the 2nd Annual ‘Prevention Honors Hollywood Heroes’ gala, an evening dedicated to celebrating remarkable women who are committed to making a world of difference. The event, which was held at the Sunset Tower Hotel last evening, honored Emmy and Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth on behalf of Maddie’s Corner, Marg on behalf of The Race to Erase MS, Holly Robinson-Peete on behalf of The HollyRod Foundation and the late Laura Ziskin on behalf of Stand Up To Cancer, for “their remarkable commitment to philanthropic causes”. 2010 What A Pair! cast member Marissa Jaret Winokur will be reprising the role of Tracy Turnblad in this summer’s Hollywood Bowl production of Hairspray.
The production, which will be directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, will feature Tony winners Harvey Fierstein and Winokur, who created the roles of, respectively, mother Edna Turnblad and daughter Tracy Turnblad in the original Broadway company.
Joining them will be Corbin Bleu (Seaweed), Drew Carey (Wilbur Turnblad), Diana DeGarmo (Penny Pingleton), Mo Gaffney (Prudy Pingleton, the Gym Teacher, the Matron), Nick Jonas (Link Larkin), Darlene Love (Motormouth Maybelle), Tara Macri (Amber) and John Stamos (Corny Collins).
